SMS Consent
Guardian Angel Timer is a personal safety app. Texts are optional: the app can be used without them. Before Guardian Angel Timer sends any text message or automated call, the user must check a box to expressly agree to receive automated text messages and calls from Guardian Angel Timer, including one-time verification codes, and to let Guardian Angel Timer send verification messages and emergency alerts to the emergency contacts they add.
Consent is collected with an unchecked checkbox that the user must affirmatively tap before any text message is sent. It is offered at sign-up, on the consent screen, in Profile before the user's own number is verified, and when the user starts the safety timer without having agreed. The screenshot below reproduces the sign-up checkbox and its label exactly as they appear in the app:

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any Guardian Angel Timer message to stop texts to that phone number, and reply HELP for help. If an emergency contact replies STOP, they will no longer receive emergency alerts by text. Texts are not required to use the app or to make any purchase. The safety timer can't run without them, because it works by texting the user's emergency contacts. Replying STOP is how to turn texts off; there is no setting in the app for it.
